Poland’s business services sector is moving up the value chain fast. With exports hitting a record $48.4 billion in 2025 and mid-office functions now making up 63% of operations, GBS and shared service leaders are under pressure to scale AI and automation while keeping talent, governance, and resilience front and center.

At ABSL Summit 2026, Europe’s largest gathering of business services leaders, we joined 1,400 participants and 150 speakers over three days to explore this year’s theme, “Know the Unknown.” Structured around three pillars—Talent, Technology, and Transformation – the program examined how organizations can turn uncertainty into competitive advantage, from practical GenAI implementation workshops to a closing keynote from Nobel laureate and AI pioneer Geoffrey Hinton on the risks and promise of AI. Attendees were able to see how agentic AP automation platforms such as Invoicetrack are helping enterprises and shared service centers move toward truly autonomous invoice processing.

Takeaways:

  • 85% of sector leaders have already adopted generative AI, and 70% expect to rely on autonomous systems by 2030
  • A third of leaders anticipate half their workforce will need role redefinition by 2030, putting talent transformation at the heart of the AI conversation
  • Poland’s centers are shifting from transactional work to higher-value mid-office functions—raising the bar for automation, analytics, and process ownership
  • AI ambition must be paired with coordinated governance and safety, as Geoffrey Hinton’s keynote made clear

This event brought together GBS, shared services, and finance transformation leaders looking to build resilient, AI-enabled operations for the decade ahead.
